I few weeks ago I decided to make a set of oscillator waves for Zebra that sweep across all the waveforms. I'm aware of Howards Phatty osc but I seem to recall it being just the triangle or something. I used the Wav2Zebra utility found here on the forum... anyways, the waveforms look pretty good on the s(M)exoscope. I thought I'd share them.
Little Phatty Oscillator Sweep
They sound pretty nice with the recent filters added to Zebra and of course the Diva filters in ZebraHZ. Also thinking about doing something similar with my SEM.
*adding a link to PhattyMutations and Sem Sweep too

Thank you! Try them soon, and really waiting for the SEM!

They are lovely and musically useful!
Thanks for your work again, and now i'm waiting much more for
your SEM waveset!
Cheers,
Joseph

Thanks for the compliment hollo!
I updated the link above with a new version of the file that flips the first waveform so that it will more smoothly sweep with the rest of the waveforms. This really bugged me when I first made the wavetable but I had forgotten about it until I posted this up last night. I used the same audio file as before, I just cropped the waveform differently.
I'll try to make some time to do the SEM this weekend. I need to figure out exactly how I want to put it together. Has got me thinking a bit about my other kit too (Blofeld, Tempest and Mopho).
Really glad you are enjoying it.

You're welcome. I think it's cool if someone gets some use from this. I noticed the it got put up on the PatchLib... *woot* I'm an official contributor!
Tonight I was thinking about how some synths (Rolands) can give you multiple waveforms on one oscillator and so, I was screwing around with the idea of merging waveforms. I have no idea if any of these are legit versions of what I was aiming for (and it almost looks like a couple of the waveforms clipped) but... I did 2 sets of Phatty Mutations.
The first, I used the exact same set of waveforms above but merged the tri/saw, tri/square, square/saw and tri/square/saw and did some morphing between waveforms.
The second one, I tried to line up the peaks on the waveforms a bit more and did the same thing.
PhattyMutations
A couple of the waveforms are extremely cool and make for some interesting single oscillator sounds.
* A note to the Patchlib maintainer, if you choose to add these too, you can just merge these with the original file... or not (your call).
Sorry, hollo... no SEM yet but, it'll get here. I'm feeling rather motivated now.

which note did you sampled for for the convertation?GruvSyco wrote:I few weeks ago I decided to make a set of oscillator waves for Zebra that sweep across all the waveforms. Pretty sure it was like middle C. I almost never dive into Oscillator FXEsmileZ wrote: which note did you sampled for for the convertation?

SEM Waves.
I love my SEM way more than my Phatty but the single cycle waveforms don't seem nearly as interesting. I also notice, looking at the complete "sample" not just the single cycle, the waveform seems to very quite a bit over time (visually noticable at least).
Anyways... waveform 1 is the Saw and waveforms 5 thru 16 are varying steps across the pulse width. 2-4 was a blend I did from the Saw to the 1st Pulse waveform.

Thanks again guys!
Yes sometimes hard to get the expected sound from single cycle.
Sometimes the next sampling session will give you totally
different result.
Keep up the good work!

Hi,
SEM is very unique compare to other. It has has a monster sweeps that cover frequency spectrum. It should be in the sounlab of every music. SEM is the best among the rest. It gives the best tone.
