Anyone running Kontakt 5 Player on 1.9?

I've searched the forums but can't find a recent or obvious post about this plug (besides issues with dual core settings?).

Receptor 2 Pro Max. 1.9 OS.

Have Komplete 7 installed. Have Alicia's Keys and Studio Drums wanting to live on the Receptor. Both require the Kontakt 5 player.

Is installation as simple as dropping into the installers folder? Anything to look out for?

I haven't tried it yet and don't want to bork anything.

Thanks in advance for info.

Answered my own question.

It was indeed a simple "drop installers here" operation + refresh plugins.

Works great.

Well, almost great.

I haven't quite figured out how to (or whether you can) load Alicia's Keys.

I tried the "Add in Kontakt 3 first" approach, but Kontakt 3 doesn't recognize the AK Library, perhaps because it's a v.5 library.

Trying to add it in K5 player just hangs everything.

Thoughts?

having trouble too - upgraded to Komplete 8 - want to load Neo Soul Keys 3 - add library function not working - I get a message that says cannot load. The Neo soul keys site says you should use Kontakt 5.03 - how do I upgrade from 5.00 to 5.03?

To the OP Alica Keys runs better w k5 than it did w k4 - it was unusable w k4 - unless you could tolerate a lot of latency - K5 seems to run better.

And I have to say the install of Komplete 8 was pretty easy - took a long time but worked fine - but I am having trouble adding library's.

oh and I had Alica Keys installed by Muse when I upgraded to PRO 2 so I don't know how they loaded it. When I installed Komplete 8 it automatically found Alica Keys and I can load.

Alica Keys doesn't sound great to me. Get Ivory - it's much much better.

Hey, well, I've got what I've got, so I'd prefer to go with that. It's a decent piano for pop. I'm not a huge fan of the Yamaha sound anyway, and I'm kinda done chasing sampled piano libraries. I use the NY Grand with no problems, but that was part of Komplete 7 (which I already owned), and K5 loaded that with no issues (including the NY Grand update NI put out).

Anyway, this is still an issue for adding libraries like Studio Drummer as well. It's not necessarily "holding me up", but I'd still like to see whether there's a solution that doesn't involve buying Komplete 8.

I opened a ticket on how to upgrade to the latest version of Kontakt and Gary sent instructions. See Below. It worked fine - the upgrade that is. I am still unable to add libraries. If I hear anything else I will let you know.

What you will want to do is go to the NI website and download the WINDOWS update. When downloaded take the setup EXE file and drop it into drop installers here on the Receptor hard drive.

From there you will want to go the Receptor viewer and clear all plugins from the mixer. Now go to the setup page page and make sure Z load is off.

It is now safe to hit the Install 1 file Button on the setup page. This will launch the install wizard for Kontakt. Follow the install using the DEFAULT settings. After this the update should be done.

I have had nothing but problems trying to get Kontakt 5 to run on 1.9.2. I loaded Komplete 8 following the instructions hereabouts, got everything to come up and run except Kontakt...when I try to load a new (non-NI or self-created) library, I get a "Demo Mode" indication and lose audio after a certain time period. I applied the most recent update, got it to work briefly (no demo mode) only to have the Receptor crash big time! Not only did it remove every Kontakt sound/multi I had programmed in several banks, but it also removed all other NI related patches (Massive, FM8, Absynth) as well as removing the option of choosing any NI program from the Source Plugin list. Prior to this crash, I saw multiple instances of NI programs in the list (Kontakt was listed 4 times!) and I had thought that perhaps the multiple listings and demo mode were due to an old early version of Kontakt...so I went through and cleaned out any and all NI programs on my Receptor and reloaded Komplete 8. I still found demo mode and multiple listings of Kontakt and Absynth on the Source Plugin list. I loaded the Kontakt update (5.0.3), refreshed plugins, got 3 Kontakt errors, and now I once again have no Kontakt appearing on the Source Plugin list.

After 2 years of banging my head against this beast I am about ready to put it on Craigslist! :(

I did exactly the same and Kontakt 5 is working perfectly on V1.9 for me :)
