Hay, if i load MuDrum or some other drum program, i can't see in the pianoroll the name of the different hits and kicks. Is this possible to do? And how do i see the multiple outputs for instruments like Geist, so that i can equalise different hits through different mixer channels?

Post

you must use the modular capabilities of mulab to see individual outputs on any plugin. from there you can make connections to rack inputs.

agreed on the labels in the piano roll

That would have to be a custom view as it would be be notes for non-drum instruments... Not sure how complicated that is for midi editor?

Yes it would be very useful. Maybe in an update it will come?

Ok, this is explained in the manual? I read it a while ago, but perhaps i have to do it again.

I don't see how drum labels would work. I like the idea, but AFAIK, plugins cannot report this to the host, and a lot of drum plugins I've used do not follow the MIDI standard mappings. Being able to name notes yourself and including a standard MIDI mapping would be pretty cool though.

It works automatically in Orion and Reaper with Poise. But in Mulab it doesn't come up.

I also use Poise in Reaper and Orion, and you are correct, it does do the piano roll labels automatically. To do the same thing for the Mudrum in Reaper just create your own drum map. It is just a basic text file linking each drum hit to a midi note.

Look at one of the sample drum maps at reaper.fm resources if your unsure how to set it up.

Didn't know this was possible, cool!
