Are you looking for just having the kick on playback or do you want the kick and other drums to play?

Easiest way is to have two drum sets and sidechain the one your going to use for bass drum compression. You could mess around in the MUX but that gets complecated and time consuming

When want to work in a simple straightforward way, then the rack desk is the anwer.
The more you want/need to do special routings the more the deep modular MUX is your swiss knife.
Luckily these 2 ways of working can be combined. You can do complex routings in the Session MUX and route the results to racks which will be appearant in the rack desk.
Or you can insert MUXes inside racks and do more complex stuff in there while everything stays within the context of a single rack.
Many options.

Here it is:

The Synth is routed to a Compressor with Sidechain in the Session MUX.
The Sidechain is feed from a Bass Drum Rack Send. After you created the send, move the connection of the BD rack to the compressor from the first to the second audio input, which is the sidechain input.
The output of the Compressor is sent to a third rack where you can listen to the result.
For the compressor setup, it is important that the "Int/Ext Signal" is set to 100% = external signal is used for the sidechain.
Using a Send to feed the sidechain has the advantage that you can still use the Bass Drum itself in your mix and you can control the sidechain level with the send pot. Note that the send has to come directly after the BD to have it independent from the BD rack fader.
Unfortunately, that "Int/Ext Signal" is routed incorrectly in the factory patches. My fault actually. A revised patch is here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/62409608/Compr ... ump%29.Mux
It's the patch that is most suited for the discussed application.
