It was pretty effortless to get up and running with iLok on Mac 10.8 using Safari. iLok works through your browser and seems a bit easier to use than eLicenser.
The hassle is the dongle, but every protection scheme has up sides and down. As much as I love my 2CAudio plugins, if I have to enter those serial numbers again I think I'll lose it
Seems like the upside to the dongles is being able to use your software on a few machines without having to enter license numbers over and over. I'm definitely thinking of getting the insurance they offer though. Hate to lose my licenses (even temporarily) by losing the dongle or having it break.

PS, apart from the above bullcrap, I was thinking about getting one for the cakewalk softube bundle for cakewalks prochannel, but then they scrapped it so i bought native instruments versions of the classic compressors and the DBX emulation beats every one Ive ever tried due to its unique voltgage based compression, a True Quality Product though very unique, my 2 penneth

Never had any issues at all with iLok with all the software which I depend on that requires an iLok. I am not a 'fanboy' but I can say with 100% honesty its never caused any headaches and I have been using iLok since version well far to many an early one of Pro Tools than I care to admitt
I have heard/read about 'the horror stories' but just either am lucky or they are blown out of proportion into web myth

A suggestion - Grab the latest free version of Univers Sons UVI Workstation 2 as that automatically installs PACE/iLok stuff and then have a play with it within your host(s) of choice and then unistall it...I'm rather sure it will not do any harm to your system/setup in anyway or at least it should not
Just my experiences over the years as a user FWIW and my 2 pence, All the best to all as always

On Windows: Install iLok drivers. Restart machine. You *NEED* Internet Explorer (no other browser is supported!), log into your account on iLok.com to redeem new licenses or manange existing licenses. Never had a problem (yet!).

You don't need IE. Firefox 3 portable will work too.

You didn't mention whether Mac or Windows, but if Windows, then here's my account of installing iLok with an Antares product.
