Hi all,

I own Diva and am using 1.1.1.

I've been having some issues with what seems to be like clicking coming from the filter envelope. I'm not quite sure why and haven't been able to pin it down.

When making a fairly simple bass sound with 2 voices, in mono mode, whenever I use filter envelope depth I seem to get a clicking as if there was no release set and the note is getting clipped. This seems to happen on both Analog envelope models. I have tried setting release which seems to make no difference.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how I might fix this or why it's happening? If I turn the Filter Env off it goes away

Many thanks

Is release set to zero?

@jsrobinson

Can you provide a preset where it does this, or take a screenshot? It will be easier to tell what's happening that way.

Release is not set to zero, that's the first thing I checked. Seems like there's a noticable difference in this example with the filter envelope on.

This is really just the MS-20 template turned to mono and playing a 16th note "off bass" E note @ 41hz . It seems to happen with virtually any template or init patch I use, and it's all centered around the filter envelope.

In this patch if you turn off the filter envelope it seems to sound noticeably cleaner: http://www.sendspace.com/file/j0wh54

I think it's because the waveform isn't retriggering. A retrigger version of Diva's oscillators would be awesome though.

The latest version has osc reset

Hm, the oscillator reset doesn't seem to fix it. The "pop" sound seems to occur rather randomly when the filter envelope is on. With it off, it disappears.

Sorry, OSC reset would not help... I was just mentioning it was now there for the other posters info.

I listened to the preset you posted and did not hear a pop... When do you hear it?

Here is an audio clip bounced to wav with the clicking audible at random points through the loop.
I've also attached a screenshot of the Diva settings if that helps.

You should be able to hear the clicking/popping noise in this clip. Happens noticably at 0:02 and 0:08 seconds. Seems to happen at random times during the 32bar loop.

Thanks for any ideas.

not looked at the preset yet but sounds just like an ocilattor pahse issue. this is normal on free running oscillator. depending at where it is on the cycle on note press it will sound abruptly louder or lower etc
there's a new beta with oscillator retrigger.try that

Any chance you can show us where this option lives? I'm not seeing it. I could just be blind though. :hihi:

On the trimmers page... transient mode is set to analog by default... set it to osc reset. There are 3 reset knobs which control the phase that each osc resets to

Drop a limiter on there just to make sure you are not getting any clipping...

When I play your preset, that just sounds like how Diva sounds... You have a fast env with a lot of modulation on the filter cutoff and you are using Bite filter rev1
