Ok, completely messed up the mac beta 5. Sorry for wasting your time!
Hopefully, beta 6 will improve the situation:

Note that this package only contains 32bit VST and AU. 64bit versions will follow.

For VST, just rename the component file with a ".vst" prefix!
Are you really sure to load the latest version? (make sure you delete the previous version, they have a slightly different file name).
Can someone check the behaviour in reaper and AULab? (because the latest version runs fine for me in these hosts).

Looks like the mac version urgently needs a proper installer. Especially with the mac-os AU caching mess.

Beta 6 AU appears in the Live 8 list but can't be instantiated. It's also flunking the Digital Performer AU examination (no log with DP, unfortunately) with 'serious errors' and is refused by Audio Plugin Player.
I used to have Logic but finally deserted it in favour of DP.
The (re-suffixed) VST version doesn't appear in Live 8 and is likewise refused with error by Audio Plugin Player.
All the above on OS 10.6.8.
Back to the drawing board…

Edit: OMG I uploaded the wrong file! Shame on me. Please try to download beta 6 again.

If you run into trouble, pls make sure to re-download the latest zip and properly delete previous versions from your system.
Remove previous version from:
/Library/Audio/Plugins/Components
/Library/Audio/Plugins/VST
and
~/Library/Audio/Plugins/Components
~/Library/Audio/Plugins/VST
and make sure to clear your app specific caches, e.g.
http://www.xlnaudio.com/support-knowled ... s_in_logic
Install:
Copy the ".component" file into your main AU folder.
To install the VST, just rename the ".component" file to ".vst" and put it into the according folder.
To make sure you really have the beta 6 installed, open the console and type:
auval -a
The Feedback Compressor entry must look like this:
aufx Td88 Tdrl
and hopefully pass validation on your system.
beta 5 (or previous) looks like this:
aufx Td99 Tdrl

Sorry, the latest beta 6 is still no go on my 10.6.8.
It's not recognised as a vst by Live 8, nor by Twisted Wave. And yes, I did change the 'component' suffix to 'vst'.
None of the above, nor DSP Quattro, want to load the AU either.
EDIT: Twisted Wave, when refusing to instantiate b6 .vst calls it an 'AU'. Perhaps this is also why Live won't list it at all in its VST list. Something missing in the code that makes the suffix change identify the plug as AU and VST respectively?
SK Note's plugs also use that trick and it works fine with them.

Ok, can you open the console, type
auval -a
and post the relevant parts? Would be of great help.
Does the AU version run in both DAWs?
(btw, did you re-download the zip in the last hour? If not, pls do so)

I'm using OSX 10.8.2
You do need to make sure you have the absolute latest beta 6.
Fabien only uploaded it about 90 minutes ago.
Good luck
