My apologies if this has been covered recently, but a quick search didn't show any recent conversations on this. Is this something that is in the works?

Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems right now what I have to do is take the audio file into an external editor, erase the section that I want gone, and then re-record a new audio file to be flown into that space already?

And as I read on through older threads I'm guessing that you are working on this feature...

Sorry, still quite new here and very new to the software (only been using it since Nov 2012).

The feature indeed is on the wishlist. Currently you can do it by splitting audio parts and playing the ones that you want to be played. No need to go to an external editor for that.

I guess I didn't realize it was possible to split audio parts. I will look into it. Thanks! Still can't wait for punch in/out!

It's definitely on the wishlist and not at the bottom.

I have actually found a pretty good work around for this issue, in the mean time. This solution may have been discussed before so forgive me if it's remedial:

If I find audio that I want to do a punch in/out on, I split the part in two places, isolating the bad audio/take. I then delete that part. I add a sub-track and do a punch in/out on that sub track. Playback-wise, it is seamless. Voila. Takes a little bit more time than the standard method, but it works.

Jo, I hope to have some full on band tracks to you pretty soon. I'm interested to see what you think of them. They are combination midi/audio, and completely done in MuLab (with some VSTs). Have you had much of that come across to you?
