Synthmaster Demo v2.5.4.152 - Seems a bit bug infested

My environment:
- Win 7 x64
- Cubase 7 x64
- Synthmaster Demo x64 v2.5.4.152
The symptoms:
It can play fine for a while, but suddenly all keys generate the same note, or the arpeggiator suddenly stops working in various ways, like completely stops. After that all keys has been released the arp works again, but in the case when all keys starts generate the same note, I have to restart the whole daw to make it work again.
I was on my way to buy the "everything" edition today using todays 30% promo, but luckily I decided to give the demo a try first.
Unless there are some good explanations to why this demo does not work for me, I will not buy SynthMaster.

It's a demo limitation as we wrote on our web site at: http://www.synthmaster.com/downloads.aspx
SynthMaster 2.5 VST/AU/RTAS Demo version is identical to the standard version except the following limitations:
* Saving presets to individual preset files is disabled
* Online preset browser features are disabled
* Starts playing random notes after 10 minutes
It's not very random but you get the point.

wasn't a buffer problem in the past? try to set your hw-buffer to 256/512 samples inside your DAW. which soundcard do you use?
i use cubase 6.5 on win7 (both x64) and synthmaster. no problem.
UPDATE: understood the OP so that his DAW crashed everytime. my fault.

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Let me reiterate, this is a demo limitation, after 10 minutes.

It's not very random but you get the point.
But the arp-problem occurs before the 10 minute period.
Maybe it is still a demo-limitation, but more "subtle"?
The all-keys-same-note might have been after the 10-minute period though, not sure.
I suggest you add some notification to the GUI when any demo limitations set in, so they are not interpreted as bugs. Especially when the limiting is this subtle.

ok will do that!
If you can send me a midi file that can demonstrate the arp issue, will fix that asap. Do you gave a high audio buffer size, like 4096 samples? The arp has an issue with high buffer sizes.

What? The price has gone up $10 since this morning?!
I planned to buy the "everything" edition with 30% off ($188).
No deal now when you act like this, sorry.

No midi file needed.kv331 wrote:ok will do that!

I just select one of the first arps in the browser ("AR Berlin School"), and then simply hold any three keys down until the arp stops. Time until it stops varies from a few seconds and up.
Edit:
The buffer size in synthmaster is set to "Normal" (default).

Ok, sorry.kv331 wrote:No I was talking about the ASIO/HW buffer size.
I'm using a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, and the buffer size is set to 10mS in the control panel (they do not seem to have buffer size in samples or bytes).
The latencies are:
in: 21.3
out: 31.3

I have now bought and installed the real thing ("everything" edition).
(I first uninstalled the demo)
The ARP-problem is still there.
Setting the step size to 1/32 makes the arpeggio stop sooner.
Seems to run for a random number of steps before it just stops.
Checked with the midi monitor inserted before SynthMaster to verify that no key releases are received until I actually release the keys.
Anyone else with the 2.5.4.152 version that can test this?
Please explain.

- Select the "AR Berlin School" preset.
- Select the Layer1 view and choose Arp in the upper left view, and then set "Sync" to 1/32.
- Press three keys on the midi keyboard, just holding them down until the arpeggiation stops by itself. Release and repeat 3.
Please explain.

(I thought I fixed it two weeks ago but maybe the change didnt go through due to a configuration management issue)

Is this Windows? or MacOSX?
If Windows, when you look at the version of the SynthMaster2.dll do you see 2.5.4.152 ?
