Is it just me, or is the u-he site incredibly slow?
The pages barely open for me.
in face, this page http://www.u-he.com/cms/ace has stopped loading.
this has been yesterday and today.

It won't even open for me - maybe it's under maintenance? I was on it a few days ago and don't recall it being slow.

obviously it works well for some, and not for others.
I just wanted to see if it was mostly my connection with u-he, which it seems like it might be.

Hmmm... we're renting a dedicated server but we often get those issues. Maybe it's one of the weekly attacks from botnets.
I'm also contemplating to have our downloads hosted in the cloud.

We've finally gone for mirror servers.
At the moment we just serve ACE, Diva, Zebra, Uhbik, MFM and Filterscape downloads from there, just the official versions, not the betas. If anyone with download problems could have a look, that would be very appreciated.
We'll be replacing the binaries from tomorrow in preparation for the final release...

A very noticable improvement here. Downloading Zebra2 for Mac, 25 MB, succeeded on first attempt, took a few minutes (~150KB/s).Urs wrote:We've finally gone for mirror servers.

For comparison, I also quickly tried the latest beta (using the same network conditions); the download started at 8 KB/s, stalled at 104KB; I cancelled and tried again, downloaded at ~12KB/s until it again stalled at 439KB. Looking again, minutes later: at 529KB, 10 hours to go...
A major difference. Good call.
