New to MuLab...a question about some older VSTs I used with Cubase!

Hi all,
I've just bought a new laptop with Windows 8 64 bit, and an i5 processor. I've used Cubase LE for years to make music in no particular style - I don't know, you might call it post-pop? Anyway, irrelevant. I used a lot of great VSTs with Cubase LE - mellowsound, the Mellotron emulator; LM4 - an old but still brilliant drum machine, cheezmachine which is a string synth, and more of that sort of vintage stuff.
I'm using the new MuLab, 64 bit FREE edition at the moment (although I may soon upgrade as I like what I've seen so far very much).
However, I've just tried to use a load of these old VSTs and I get an 'Invalid VST Plugin' message. After a little probing, it seems that because I have the 64 bit edition, I can't use these older 32 bit plugins. Am I right?
So I was considering getting the 32 bit edition instead, but it's not exactly future proofing myself. Is there any way around this? A lot of the VSTs I'm using are old and not supported any more so we're unlikely to ever see a 64 bit edition of mellowsound come out any time soon. Would I notice much of a difference, in performance or otherwise, if I started using the 32 bit version instead?
Thanks!

MuLAB doesn't have its own bit-bridge, so you gotta use Jbridge.

You're by far not the only one with that problem
Just think of all the SynthEdit plugins still around... As I read that JBridge is not free of problems with certain synths, I have settled on the 32-bit version of Mulab. Since I don't use huge sample libraries and try to avoid using too many tracks, I have not really had problems so far. The difference in terms of system load is not that big anyway.

If only I could get Reaper's bit-bridge (which works awesomely well) in MuLAB...

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I've looked into JBridge and I wouldn't mind paying for it, but apparently it isn't without its flaws. I don't want to buy it in case it doesn't work with any of my VSTs.
I think I'll manage, it'll be just like starting over. I am curious though, the only thing I'll really miss is the LM4. I have lots of great kit samples and have made some pretty realistic sounding drum patterns with it. Is there anything in MuLab which works the same way? So, one note has say 8 samples, and depending on the velocity, it triggers a different one each time?

Mulab doesn't have what you want pre-made.
You can however, make one in the MUX (Mulabs modular core).

Thanks everyone, I got the 32 bit version and I'm using Shortcircuit instead. It does everything I want it to do! Well, except one thing...I'd have liked some reverb on the snare but there isn't a preset effect for that. Does anyone know if I can route that through another effect in MuLab?

If that VST has multiple outputs you can send the snare to a separate output and connect a reverb to that output.
This can be done in the Session MUX, or alternatively you could plugin a MUX into a rack and insert Shortcircuit in that MUX and do all sub-mixing inside that MUX.
