The Blade runner blues harmonica lead sound, because its awesome and timeless.

I'm sure Zebra can do this no prob's but i aint much of a sound designer, someone *must* have nailed this already ?

thx

Check out the demo songs to the Bigtone soundsets... I'm rather sure he's nailed it:

(not sure if the sound is in the demos though)

Great thanks Urs.

The vangelis sounds BigTONE covers are in the second pack, Stratospheres. Go to the link Urs mentioned and listen to Stratospheres -> Leads and Sequences.

There are 2 sounds he's done: the "horn" sound and the "guitar" sound and are showcased as the first and second sounds in the demo.

I am not sure if that's the bluesy harmonica sound you mean though. Do you have an audio clip?

Nice set but not what i'm looking for.

this-

I've been doing random searches on the net for the past two weeks, it seems the only way to get this sound is to program it yourself, but i still can't believe no one has done this in Zebra

Isn't there a sound like that for the Tyrell N6? (Maybe it was Zebra...) Could swear it's been done.

Reuben5150, thanks for the video. Now that I hear it I can't recall a Zebra preset that sounds like that specific sound. If I do come across it (or manage to make it myself) I'll let you know.

I think Urs nailed it. In Stratospheres, there is a patch called BT famous vangelis cs80 01 (at+mw) - which nails the lead in the video. I found my assigning the VCF1 cutoff to my controller (a default i use for one of the knobs assigned for Zebra patches I use) - i can get a near exact match, to what is in the video.

Thanks, i'll check it out, too much to drink last night

Yes its close, but the actual sound has something more.

Check out the 2.5 bank HS Harmonicat,to my ear sounds like a combination of both BT famous vangelis cs80 01 and harmonicat, but how to get there :?

I am probably being thick. Wouldn't be the first time. :) But - I am hearing (with the VCF opened up), the BT famous tone patch open up brighter - to a near exact match of the Blade Runner tones. On the BT patch, the at is already set to VCF1.. and that could be tweaked slightly to provide a more subtle change than the patch already has... but it is basically there. By manually controlling that filter... I can mimic the sound nearly exactly. The harmonicat tone is pretty bright to my ear - but that's arguable. In any case - you could stack the patches, if thats what your looking for, i suppose.

cheers

Its the initial attack i can't reproduce, listen to the fast sequences in the vid, i can get quite close to that with the harmonicat patch but the overall sound is wrong/different.

also this thread shows settings for sylenth and Roland Juno 6
