I might have brought this up before but it is still annoying.
it is nice to browse patches by playing on keyboard, then using up/down arrows for changing patch, then again playing, then again changing patch.
The problem is that when you go out from Zebra to for example adjusting Ableton Live EQ, after this you have to click Zebra with a mouse to be able to browse patches again with arrow keys.
As simple as this sounds, after getting used to changing patches with +- buttons in Sylenth/Albino I find this very annoying and slow
I have set up Zebra so that I can use program change messages to change patches, but the problem is following:
- lets say that I have 10 folder in zebra, and each of them has 35 patches (close to the reality), folder 01, 02, etc... If I send a program change message 50, zebra will choose patch number 50-35, from folder 02. If I send a program change message 80, Zebra will choose patch number 80-35-35 from folder 03. In practice I would have no idea which patch/bank change to send to select a certain patch visible in screen, this would be a long trial error "game".
- this is very confusing and the behavior I would desire is following. Program changes 36-127 will be ignored, program change 1-35 will choose the corresponding patch from whatever folder is currently chosen by mouse.
- this could be easily implemented as simple check box setting in Zebra global menu, if check box is selected, behavior changes to what I am suggesting, if it is not selected, the behavior stays how it is currently. I guess it would be also very easy to implement code wise.

This is how it should be. If Program Change "overruns" switch the bank, then that's a bug clearly...golemus wrote:Program changes 36-127 will be ignored, program change 1-35 will choose the corresponding patch from whatever folder is currently chosen by mouse.

Actually it behaves as supposed, but when you start Zebra it is in Bank 0 (MIDI programs), and even when you choose a folder in it with a mouse it still considers Bank 0 as chosen
If I then send a Bank MSB change message it will move to a new bank and Zebra remembers the new bank but it still ignores if you choose a new bank with mouse. So it seems that for some reason choosing a bank with a mouse does not change the internal state of which bank is currently chosen.
The host is Ableton Live 8.4 32bit (or 8.41 or whatever).

Oh, yes, chosing a preset folder by mouse does not change the MIDI bank.
I have not thought about this before... maybe we can think about something...
