Hello everyone!

After years of just reading and learning on kvr this is my very first post...

Well, here's my problem:
I simply can't find the transport panel and the audio/midi options menu. When I click on the MuLab tab in the upper left corner nothing happens. I researched the web but found nothing that could help me out.

Somehow you've removed or hidden it! Try reinstalling in a different location then, once you know it works, transfer you're own content to the new location, but NOT the old settings as that's probably the cause.

Or try replacing your settings folder with a new one? But Backup first!

Thanks for you answer!

Unfortunately this didn't solve the problem. I did like you suggested but there's still no transport bar and no options menu.
I'm on Mac OS 10.6.8, could that be part of the problem?

Try this:

Redownload the latest official MuLab for Mac from http://209.238.100.73/mulab/mulab-5-1-5-osx.zip
Then unzip that zip file and run the MuLab.app in there.
Do you see the transport?

Hello mutools!

Again, no success at all!
Still the same problem, no transport bar and no options menu.

The reason I'd like to use MuLab is that I want to teach kids how to make/produce music and this app really fits all the needs. Especially when it comes to the price for the license as those kids really can't afford to spend a large amount.

I would be very grateful if someone could help me get the app running.

Maybe the mentioned problems don't happen on a windows system. Well, and I don't think any of the kids owns a macbook. But before I could start teaching them I'd have to learn the app first and unfortunately I don't have a windows machine...

Thanks in advance,
Johnny

I just downloaded M5.1.5 for OSX and tried it and all is fine here. I don't know why you don't see the transport panel, and i didn't receive similar reports.

Please try this:

* Launch MuLab
* MULAB menu -> Help -> Start Logging
* Quit MuLab

* Launch MuLab
* "Continue Logging?" => Click OK/Yes
* Quit MuLab
* Email me the most recent Log-YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS.txt in your MuLab folder

Post

Hi!

Sorry, I can't do
* MULAB menu -> Help -> Start Logging
simply because, as I said, there's no way to open the options menu. When I click on the MULAB tab nothing happens, the menu won't open. Even when clicking on the apple icon in the upper left corner nothing happens...!

Are you sure Mulab 5.1.5 works with OS 10.6.8?

Yes. And the fact that everything works, except the top panels, proves that.
It's the first time i hear that the top panels are not visible after a full installation. I have no idea why.

About logging:

There is an alternative way:

* Quit MuLab. (if it would be open)
* Goto the MuLab/User/Settings subfolder and open MainSetup.Txt.
* There add (or change) the line Logging=1 and save.
* Start MuLab and when asked "Continue Logging" click OK/Yes.
* Quit MuLab
* Email me the most recent Log-YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS.txt in your MuLab folder.

Could it be the resolution is set too big for the monitor? Are the windows minimise/close buttons visible?
