Hi everyone,
I have found a sound that i want to use. I only have a audio sample of it.
Does anybody believe they can recreate/reconstruct this in zebra2?
I have put the sample on soundcloud for you to hear https://soundcloud.com/ssienn/sample-id-777

Hi
One noise osc
One osc with sine waveform,Pitch modulated by MSG1, no attack very short decay, no sustain, no release
Env1 with really short decay time, no sustain, no release.
That would be a start
Cheers
David

Let me just tell you what I have got so far:
- 1 OSC: square wave
- 2 OSC: sine wave: tune - 37
- ENV 1 with: 0 attack, 23 decay, zero sustain, 0 release, V-slope
- MSEG 1 modulates tune of both OSC 1 and OSC 2 for a very short pitch down( sounds like a very short laser
- VCF 1 LP Xcite: cutoff 30, drive 100
- ENV 2: modulates cutoff for VCF 1: 0 attack, 35 decay, 0 sustain, 0 release
- EQ 1: Low cut 250hz, High narrow boost 600hz
I like the attack of the original sound. It just stands out there. I would really like some help figuring this one out. I could post my preset so you guys can take a look at it.
Who will get his hands dirty?

@Totolitoto thats how i got started as well and i gets me close. These settings are also the most obvious. Thanks for helping though
@Davias I thought of something like that myself. To get the extra punchy attack i added an Eq and that makes a huge difference too

Eventually i got it pretty close using:
- 1 osc: tune 24, MSEG 12
The original sound seems to have a distortion or bitcrusher. I cannot figure out what it is, but i got it close

Looking at the waveform, I'd say the attack is very prominent because it's a very sharp, loud spike. Your choice of square and noise seems on the money. The square component rises in pitch slightly and fades away as the sound progresses, leaving just noise in the tail.ssienn wrote:I'm really curious what makes the attack of the sound so prominent
One theory I have is that it's not noise so much as noise modulation on the square wave. This is because as the square component fades, the remaining noise resembles the spectral pattern of the square to some fuzzy degree.
Interesting sound!

Yeah sure. You can even just open the .h2p in a text editor and copy/paste the contents of it in a post here.ssienn wrote:I want to share the preset .h2p. Is it allowed to post a link to zippy?

I also think the noise component may come from a very short reverb like a diffusor or somesuch.

Ok, just because I've not done much imitative synthesis and am interested in getting better, here's my attempt.

Each time the original sound is played, closely followed by what I put together in Zebra. I used BiFilter 2 after Zebra to get a bit of diffusion sound.

The sound is so interesting and puzzling it can drive me crazy.Sendy wrote:Looking at the waveform, I'd say the attack is very prominent because it's a very sharp, loud spike. - I really wouldn't know if it is a square, but its the first thing that came to mind to me as well.
- The attack puzzles me. There is a pitch, but I can't here if it's a RISING or FALLING pitch. Can you be sure?
- What makes to attack so loud? Is it overloaded, distorted, bitcrushed? Its most likely a layered sound, so the attack could be compressed or limited to get extra punch right?

@jupiter8 Thnks dude I knew about the tekst editor possibility. I am glad you reminded me.
@ sendy Let me just say its so cool to see you put an interest in my interest! I appreciate your attempt. But I have to be honest. The attack of your version doesn't match the original still right. I bet if we knew what the correct way was. We would be like OOOOOHHHHHHHHHH!!! now i understand
I just checked the waveform. It seems to be a square
