I just ordered Zebra 2 and was sent an email with a registration code, but when I click on the link that it gives me to put in the code I can't find any place to put in the code. It says to open up zebra but I don't find a place to Open up Zebra. Please help.

It tells me to open up Zebra, but I 'm not sure where to find Zebra. I looked in my downloads, and even went through the install process, but it still doesn't show up.

Hey Cheachea,
You need to open Zebra inside your DAW. After opening Zebra, you should be able to enter your serial somewhere at the top op the plugin?
I hope i understand your question correctly. If not, let me/us know.
Btw you can download zebra from u-he's website. It's the demo version of
course but after entering your serial it will unlock and demo restrictions are gone.

Sorry for my ignorance . What is DAW ? I'm on a Mac also.
I went to my downloads and I saw that I had the Manual etc. I also went through the installer but I still can't find a place to open up Zebra. Thank you for your help.

This is what the email says:
"To enter your registration codes, open Zebra and click on the big display on top. A menu will open up, select "register". A small window will appear asking for your codes:"
I don't know where to "Open" Zebra to put in the codes.

No problem.
Zebra is a plugin and will only open inside a host like for example Ableton live, Cubase or Studio one which are pretty expensive.
Studio one has a free version, that could be a good start. http://studioone.presonus.com/free/
I read you use a mac? There is an application in the appstore called: Audio Plugin Player which is only three bucks.
You can open zebra with that and connect a midi keyboard via usb, pretty straightforward.
Do you own a midi keyboard?

You have a bit of learning ahead of you (as you say "a challenging time") but be patient.cheachea wrote:This is what the email says:

A DAW is a Digital Audio Workstation -- for example, Abelton Live, Cubase, Logic Studio. Such programs will open up plugins like Zebra, Diva, Sylenth, etc.
If you spent all your money on Zebra...then you can use something like savihost to open Zebra. http://www.hermannseib.com/english/savihost.htm
Or you can get a trial version of the DAW Reaper.

It is a bit intimidating but discovering new things is a real pleasure. Enjoy!

Last time I checked, "Free" or "Artist" versions of Studio One couldn't load VST/AU effects and instruments at all.JustusHall wrote:Studio one has a free version, that could be a good start. http://studioone.presonus.com/free/

@cheachea
AULab by Apple is a bit tricky to get your hands on, because you need to sign up as a developer (it's possible for free) and download it as part of the "Audio Tools for Xcode" here.
AULab is free and easy to understand, it can load Zebra (and other AU instruments) just fine. Great for live performance or "just playing around", should you not need or want all the bells and whistles a complete DAW has to offer.
If you need any help getting started, feel free to ask here or write an eMail to u-he support.
Cheers,
Rob

Hello cheachea,
Your MAC should have come with Garageband already installed. Zebra runs under GB just fine so you wont have to get anything extra if you don't want to. Create a new software instrument track and go to information window and click the edit tab and then click the software generator tab and scroll to Zebra2 and select that. Then you have to click that AU icon to bring up Zebra's GUI. Then you can follow the instruction to enter your registration data.
Hope this will get you going and you enjoy the best synth there is.
Have a good day!
