Clicks when modulating envelope parameters?

Try this: load up Michael Kastrup's ARP Bass Berlin Style. Turn off the echo so you can hear better. Hold down a few notes then turn the modwheel, which changes ADSR 2 decay time. Also try easy knob 6 which is mapped to envelope release time for the envelopes in layer 1. When I do either, I get clicks and / or discontinuities.
Does anyone else get that? I'm using Synthmaster in Reaper 4.52 (happens in both x86 and 64 bit versions) on OS X.

Same thing happens on Cubase 6.5.2 on W7-64
I notice it only really happens when lowering the modulation value in both cases though.

Interesting, I hadn't noticed that it was only when lowering values but I think you're right.
I hope this one gets fixed soon... modulating envelope parameters is one of the best things to do with VA sounds.

Well, if you modulate them with nonstatic modulation sources while the sound is playing yes you might hear clicks. That's a "design limitation" for now.~Pd~ wrote:bump

There are factory sounds with CCs and easy controls mapped to envelope parameters so clearly sound designers are expecting this not to be a design limitation.
One of the coolest dynamic features of an arpeggiated VA sound is the ability to modulate attack and decay while it's playing so the sound goes from TAKTAKTAK to THUPTHUPTHUPTHUP. (not sure if those are the standard ascii onomatopoeic representations.
)
Hope you will consider taking a look at the envelopes in 2.7 or 2.8...
