is it or could it be possible to define shortcuts to select Next Track or Previous Track?
almost all DAWs (Ableton Live, Studio One, etc.) have this feature.

Yes! Mee too! It would really make an awesome complement considering that Mulab/Mux has much potential for live use I really want to be able to change racks for live playing!!

Alternatively, some form of programmable selector inside MUX for switching between instruments or effects in terms of midi channel for example would be awesome. The drum pads are close but it's only for one note and not polyphonic. The midi channel splitter are also close but cannot reroute channels.
