I apologize if this has been explained before but I just purchased Thesys and can't figure out how to start Thesys via midi notes on Reaper track. I have the notes on the track and when they play in Reaper it shows midi in activity in Thesys but doesn't start the sequencer. I have the trigger mode set to "note on" . Am I missing something?

I have the internal sequencer off and am using Thesys to trigger notes in a soft synth. When I have it set to host it triggers sequence when I hit play in Reaper. I want it to start the sequence using midi notes on my Reaper tracks but so far no luck. Any ideas? What am I missing?

You need to use the correct octave. See the keyboard at the bottom for a visual guide.

Check the differences between the trigger modes, too:

- "Pattern keys" trigger the individual patterns
- "Pitch keys" trigger the actual pattern transposed according to your note input

Hey elassi.

I don't know what you mean when you say use the correct octave.?

I thought Thesys would trigger based on note being played in Reaper. Let's say I have a c2 note on a track in Reaper what would Thesys need to be set to to play the sequence when note c2 is played in host sequencer? I guess that's the part I must be missing because as of right now I haven't gotten Reaper to trigger anything in Thesys when trigger mode is set to note on.

Watch this short screen cap and pay attention to

a) the note/octave I played (shown in the midi editor window)
b) the response from thesys and
c) the setting on the upper right hand side (two modes: pattern keys first and then pitch keys)
d) the keyboard panel at the bottom of Thesys
