So we have emulations of the Minimoog, Alpha Juno, Juno 60, Jupiter 6, Jupiter 8, Korg MS-20 rev1 & rev2 plus the JP-8000 oscillator and OB-X/SEM filter.
What are some of the tricks and quirks individual to each emulation/module?
I'm not even sure what sounds I can coax out of a Jupiter 6 or 8 so I tend to stick to the Juno 60, Minimoog and MS-20 modules. I don't even know what potential a cross mod function has, yet I've heard so much about Jupiters being coveted synths so I feel like I'm missing out.

Noticed the thread, misunderstood as "Diva emulations". Just wanted to say that the tips given by Urs about analog bigness of sound often unexpectedly work.
For example, sometimes I have bass or lead and many processing inserts after, including saturation or aggressive dynamic processing which cause quite audible distortion. And If I insert the highpass filter as the first insert the sound can become bigger. This effect quite audible when I switch filter on and off.
I think the saturation after the highpass is the key. Although I often don't like this analogue bigness, it is less controllable than flatter sound in the mix.

Nice video. Shows that the Supersaw in Diva actually seems to really nail the real thing and at some settings Diva even seems to sound better.sl1914 wrote:In Diva beta thread someone posted this video link.
It compares Diva's new digital OSC to original Roland
It shows how this new super saw works.
Will try to do a comparison with JP6K myself which seems to be the best emulation of the real thing so far besides this Reaktor ensemble from Alex Shore:

Recently i did my own approach with using that Supersaw in combination with the NI Monark filter. The result should be comparable to using the Diva Supersaw with the Minimoog filter. I'll try to have a look if that's true.
Besides any comparison i really like how the Supersaw in Diva sounds in combination with the new Uhbie filter.

Cross mod is analog FM, Osc 1 modulates the pitch of Osc 2. Not sure what it sounds like? Turn the knob!
