I am just playing around with Zebra2 demo and wanted to know if there is a distortion effect (something like sylenth) that Zebra has?

Thanks!

Shaper. Also it is worth to use XMF filter - it has several overdrive modes which work great as distortion, or lpf vintage2 - it has overdrive similar to "XMF" mode of XMF filter, but cheaper in terms of CPU usage.

Yeah, distortion in Zebra are a bit hidden. On the other side, I heard it's one of the things thatt guys work on for Z3.

We're actually working on a distortion as Zebra's 10th birthday present (due December 2013)

You can also use one of the compressors in the fx section using the 'strong' mode...

The shaper is very different to Sylenth1 or Spire's distortion which are far FAR more aggressive. The XMF drive is also very different and is more similar to the filter drive in Sylenth1.

HOWEVER, there does exist an absolutely awesome distortion in Zebra2 already. Add a VCF and switch to Vintage2, then use the Drive knob to smash your sound.

I'm super excited about the new distortion module though!!! :)

Well, Vintage2 Drive is pretty similar to XMF's Drive in "XMF" mode, but the volume scaling works different. It seems Vintage2 Drive operates like XMF in the 2.3 mode. Also I have impression that Sylenth1's filter drive is more likely "Analogue" and "Biased" XMF's modes.

Yeah, Sylenth1's filter drive is most similar to XMF Analogue and Eco modes. But Vintage2 (in 2.5 mode) is far more aggressive than the drive in XMF I find.

Hopefully these get the job done for ya :)

It is not a distortion plug-in, but a new distortion module in Zebra
