I thought I'd do some playing around with MuX as I'm not feeling too good and have time on my hands. The first thing I tried was to put a fancy front panel on my new toy -- I have no idea what it's going to be yet, so working on the looks is the easiest place to start! :)

Unfortunately, I got an error:
Image
I clicked "Locate" to see where MuLab thought I was and it had the file selected: (image is a bit big, so click the link to see)

Am I doing something wrong?

Another minor glitch -- I deleted an ADSR generator whilst its tooltip was popped up... and it didn't take away the tooltip (it's still stuck there). (Looks like MuX uses MouseOut events to clear popups -- of course, as the control wasn't there, no MouseOut event. Clicking the background cleared it.)

http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/mux/mu ... ]Common Info
Every module that has a parameter also has an event input for receiving parameter events that automate the parameter. So even if a certain module has nothing to do with events, for example the audio amplifier, it still has an event input to receive automation events.
OK, so when I insert "Audio Processors, Level Compressor", it's got parameters that I can happily access either manually or by attaching to the MuX front panel and then using an automation subtrack. But I can't see how to use either event or modulation generation within the MuX to control the parameters, as the module only has audio in connectors. Again, am I doing it wrong / failing to understand?

Similarly, Audio Event Follower -- I'd like to be able to dial in (or even automate) the "Key" parameter but that's not available. (Again, contrary to the doc, no event input. I'm guessing the docs aren't up to date.)

More of a feature request than a problem (unless again I'm doing it wrong)...

The Modulation Monitor's display area (within the window border) is draggable. It gets a "no drop" sign in most places -- except the MuX Front Panel. However, dropping it doesn't "work" -- nothing appears to happen. I was hoping to have some nice visual feed back on the front panel for my toy.

----

And in passing -- the audio limiter "Out Gain" control seems a little ... lopsided? -140dB in 25 clicks, +36dB in ... well, I got bored - it's vastly more detailed on the boost side than the cut side but I don't understand why. Maybe have the -140dB, vertical 0, +36dB?

I'll look into this.

Fixed in the next version. Thanks.

In both cases the event input was missing indeed. Fixed in the next version. Thanks.

Integrating module editors within a front panel is not yet supported. It's on the wishlist.

It's because the audio limiter only limits levels, it never amplifies. And so the compensating Out Gain should rather amplify, not attenuate.

Thanks for the replies! I'll happily admit to not really having grasped how the Audio Limiter is working (as it wasn't actually what I needed :)).
