no, and thats a good thing.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Depends on how it is defined:EvilDragon wrote:u-he doesn't do discounts. Ever.
I got free ACE when I subscribed to Beat Magazine. Isn't that some kind of discount/freebie?
Also uhe set free Zebralette, which earlier was restricted/payware, so that is also an anomaly if u-he never does discounts?

u-he stuff is always in the Market Place, im sure you can pick up a bargain from there. (i think ppl impulse buy and then realise its too complex)spaceman wrote:schandalous!

No, those aren't discounts. Perhaps the only things that qualify are the dinosaur x-grade for Zebra and intro prices for new plugins. There haven't been any discounts on established products, for the reasons explained in that other thread. Good thing, too.Numanoid wrote:Depends on how it is defined:EvilDragon wrote:u-he doesn't do discounts. Ever.

The way I see it there is just as much "discount energy" in the u-he price signals, it's just spread over the sustain and isn't limited to the occasional "transients".
See what I did there, that was topical, that was.

I remember there being a little chatter about a possible bundle, but that quickly faded as a "maybe"... IIRC they would need to revamp their billing and auth systems (read: licence keys); and that would just be too much trouble for them and they would rather focus their efforts on supporting and developing great software.
IMO U-he enjoys the same market status that Apple enjoys -- they can charge what they want and if anyone complains -- a hord of kvr fanboys will run to their defense.
Or maybe, you just realise that $179 isn't that much to pay for such a quality synth that you just shut the f**k up and buy the damn thing
In short:
U-He != Native Instruments
