Hello,
Well I'm really thinking about buying some better MIDI keyboard that I have now.
The choice so far that is most handy for me is the Novation Impulse 49 keys.
But one question came to mind if Automap will see MULAB as a DAW software??
It makes programming and working with the Impulse a lot faster...
On the list of DAW's that are compatible with Automap is MULAB not available but it says it can work with other DAW software that are not in the list.
Anyone has any experience with M5 and Automap???

A word of advice, DO NOT EXPECT AUTOMAP v4.x TO WORK WITH M5, IT DOESN'T!!! Hasn't since release and there are no intentions from either Jo or Novation to ever make it compatible, at least that's what they both told me.
I limited my choice of keyboards to two a Korg Kontrol 49 or a Novation SL MkII 49. Then the Impulse was released. So wish I got the SL MkII!!! Impulse is ok in use but limited control let's it down. If it's enough for your needs then go for it.
I decided to go for the Impulse 49, the main reason being Automap. I had a Nocturn and Automap v3 worked with just about anything I tried it with. Automap v4 is garbage and only works with the 'big guns.' Reason, Cakewalk, Sonar, etc. So if I were you I'd look elsewhere.
Besides, M5 is supremely easy at assigning controls and you don't really need that crap software. I don't even use Automap anymore.

Ok,
Well heared/read a lot of complains about the Impulse buildquality and other stuff but I thought you could have al lot of controle with this keyboard but maybe read the manual not good..
If that is not really a good peace of software Automap I could try other maybe some cheaper models..
And I have still to program it myself then maybe the Samson Graphite is a nice choice..
I have the M-audio Oxygene 25 keyboard at the moment that is quit a good peace of equipment for the money but missing out on keys and knobs.
Programmed it now that every program has 9 CC values to control and that works pretty good but programming a new sound in a plugin it is a lot off going back and forward in the different program settings because I have only 9 adjustable controls.
That's why I was thinking about the Impulse, but now I'm gonna look for other brands and models..
M-Audio did really suprise me with there Oxygene 25 keyboard..
Played a while back on a M-Audio Axiom 49 MIDI controller that played really nice and has aftertouch.
But there are so many controllers on the market these..the choice is endless.
Thnx for the feedback on M5 and Automapping..

No problem. The only good thing about Automap is that the same controls can be used for various parameters as it uses 'Pages' for the knobs/sliders. Also, it saves the settings for each VST. This I requested for MuLab/MuX but not sure if/when it'll happen.

Well, it maybe not such a bad idea but then they have to make Directlink from M-audio also workable with it.
What I tought when seeing some demo's of the Automap software was that it by itself could make settings with other DAW software then the big name's...
You just had to start Automap manually and then in this case MULAB.
If I can find that Youtube demo will send a link in this thread..

If you want Automap, then I suggest getting the Novation SL MkII. It uses the older v3 software which even worked with Muzys!
