I'm not quite sure, but it looks like those who want to participate in the public beta actually have to buy the plugin first?
Because they say:
Because they say:
So my guess is that those entering into this gets the product at a lower price than it will cost when it is finally released. Please note: This is still officially a beta version of Enzyme but it is totally safe to run on your computer. We have a policy of releasing products as betas before they become official releases so that we have time to work with users to resolve any initial issues before the official release, after which there will be many more users.

Only played with it for about 30 min last night. Still makes cool noises, the sample loading stuff is neat, interface is still quite bad unfortunately. Among other things you can't drag and drop samples in and the mod matrix is a total trainwreck. It's a subwindow with scrollbars, you have to scroll past 16 "performance"/macro knob slots to get to your LFOs and ADSRs and of course most of those 16 go unused in almost every patch, you can't pick which parameters to modulate from the matrix, etc.
If you can put up with the interface it is an interesting synth, though as with SSP the results of control tweaks always seem subtle or extreme with not much middle ground. Maybe (probably) I just don't understand them well.

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Next issue of Computer Music will feature Enzyme CM, so a chance to check out the basic features of this plugs on the cheap will thus be possible, at the end of FebruaryColonel Flashback wrote:i don't want to buy, i want to beta-test

Right off the bat, without looking at the manual... I have no freaking idea how to even get a grip on this. This takes me right back to my days of turning knobs and swearing that nothing is really happening
This tells me that as a synth engine, this may not be that intuitive, and may suit "randomiser surfing" as opposed to goal-oriented tweaking. Hopefully looking at the manual will change that
