I played two instances of Zebra here in real time. A string layer and a woodwinds layer. I'm not going to delete my expensive orchestral libraries but this is actually not bad! I didn't use any external processing. I purchased Zebra as soon as it was available for Windows. It is definitely my favorite soft synth.

sorry to be negative but thats not my cup of tea. if you didn't mention it i wouldn't think of any orchestra strings. the attack is too fast with impact and the sustain is very static - of course the patches are not bad dont get me wrong but sounds like a nice synthpad with an organic flavour.
again, i'm not here to critize you it's only my humble impression okay?

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Yeah, so… this a great example of PLAYING!
Those are great chord voicing, you clearly have a good idea of what you're after, I think some of the guys want more "synth work" going on.
But that means stopping the flow… fiddling.
Besides, string patches demand aftertouch, maybe even a few foot pedals to get enough movement under control for LIVE playing (with both hands on the keys). StudioCat might not have all that (…yet).
Again… Lovely chords there

The raw tone is amazing. Many of those passages could use some type of legato emulation, a slight slur between notes. I'm sure it could be done and it would be even more convincing.

Thanks for the kind words! I do have an 88 note weighted keyboard with after touch and I'm a huge advocate for breath controllers. I have done quite a bit of orchestral work. I'm one of the "old guys" around here, as you can see in this video.TomTwohy wrote:Yeah, so… this a great example of PLAYING!
