Live VB3

Until now I have been using VB3 1.4 on my Muse Receptor and having no problems with VB3 receiving on channel 4, 5 and 6 for Upper, Lower and Pedalboard respectivley. I recently tried using VB3 as a plugin with Ableton Live9 Standard and this no longer works. I am using Live's technique to send those three MIDI channels to VB3 but I get no sound! Their technique works fine playing Spectrasonics Omnisphere multis, why not on VB3?

Here is my scenario:

1. I instantiate VB3 on track 4 and set the "MIDI From" to All Ins and All Channels

2. I create and arm a MIDI track and set the "MIDI From" to All ins and Ch 4

3. I set the "MIDI To" to 4-VB3 and 1_VB3

4. I go into the VB3 Plugin itself and set the Upper Keyboard to Chan 4, the
Lower Keyboard to chan 6 and the Pedalboard to chan 5 respectively

5. I set my MIDI controller to send on chan 4 and then I start playing notes

The result is: VB3 senses my controllers (sustain pedal, mod wheel. Expression pedal, etc.) coming in on channel 4, but does not recognize the MIDI notes and therefore there is no sound!

This is very odd because if I set VB3's Upper MIDI channel to 1, everything works fine with the above setup! The problem is that VB3 will not receive on channels 5 and 6 ... so I have no pedal board or lower manual. Ughhh!

Have anyone experienced this? Better yet, do you have a solution?

I already called Ableton Customer Support and they can not figure it out!

Thanks for your help,

Phil

I can't believe that no one has come to my rescue! :(

I did discover theanswer to my problem today and the answer is:

VB3 will only receive on channels 1, 2 and 3 while instantiated in Live9.
