Hi all,
I've just updated the popular free compressor DC1A to the compression engine of its big brother DC8C 2. DC1A 2 offers a few more tricks than its predecessor, such as compression with negative ratios and dual mono operation. Since the sound has changed, DC1A 2 has a new plugin id, so that you're able to use V1 alongside with V2 in your projects.

DC8C has been updated too. Changes/fixes:
- new GUI(s), dedicated GUIs for each easy mode too
- new metering, much more detailed and accurate
- new dual mono switch for the easy modes
- Mac RTAS is now officially supported
- less CPU consumption
- removed DC offset from saturation
- overall better handling of extreme settings
- with no oversampling selected DC8C is zero latency now

As always, the update is free for existing users.

Well, I don't wanna be the 1st to negatively comment on some aspects of the new GUI especially since this compressor is so awesome!

...but I think he (the GUI designer) got a bit overboard with the knob shine (the small knobs)

The meter edges/contour still needs to be blended in some more (so it doesn't seem like it's falling out) ...as well as the lines delimiting the "part areas" of the compressor IMHO. May I suggest blending the lines a bit more or replacing them as they are... ugly?

PS not that important, but the "snap" mode GUI color seems a bit too dark?

How do I get the DC8C update? When I try to log into the user area using my email and password I get an error message.

maybe i'm in minority,honestly don't care,but i dont like the overall gui of dc8c -this comp loooks like a cccp radio...wtf is going on lately?new wave of superb plugins with ugly gui's
