Good evening,
I was booting up my receptor 2+ at rehearsal tonight when the front panel said something about an error or failure (2001) Call the factory with an arrow pointing to the patch load button. Pressed that and it started a self test, which displayed two error numbers: 33 and 27 I think but do not remember exactly. I shut it down and waited and attempted another reboot with the same result. I shut it down again and after a few minutes booted it up again and it did a complete boot up to a blank multi. I was able to access my specific multi and it loaded and everything seems to be working now. Is this a harbinger of future issues and does it mean there is a hardware fault developing or perhaps my hard drive may be starting to go??? Any kind of an answer would be helpful.
Thanks,
Dan Mackey
The error numbers might be different, maybe 31 and 21 or 22 . I was a little panicked so I'm trying to remember them from a few hours ago.
Boot up scare tonight on my receptor 2+.

Hi Dan,
I can't tell you exactly what is going on - and we need to be able to reproduce the error codes to get a better idea.
Here is some info though:
Receptor Error Codes -
33 - VST RPM verification failed
27 - Internal drive is the wrong size
31 - The system is not up to date
21 - Internal MIDI OSS device not found
22 - Internal MIDI device not found
If you were seeing 21/22, you may have an internal wiring issue (cable/socket loose). The 33 probably happens just after installing a new plugin - I wouldn't expect that code after stable usage (ie. just by randomly turning on your machine).
Best bet is to check with Muse support if any of these recur frequently.
Hope this helps,
Kevin L

One thing I noticed today is a lingering network error warning on the setup screen. I plugged in a crossover cable to go to my laptop in the hopes of playing with the SWAM plugins which I was going to uninstall and reinstall as unsupported plugins and see if they behaved any better. The front panel told me there was no network address so I'm wondering if that has become disconnected inside, hopefully not something soldered on the board. I hooked up a direct monitor and keyboard so I could see the GUI. On the setup view the IP address and Subnet boxes were gray with the crossover button checked and in red were the words Error(s) Lingering network.
