Hi.. I bought MuLab, I am pleased to support the developers! Just a drop in the bucket of what they deserve.
I use a YouRock guitar for Midi controller, via USB, hooked to a ASUSM2N68-AM Plus (a DDR2 MOBO, w/Athlon Quad core.) Win XP. I am still using Onboard sound, but a M Audio 2496 is on the way. It has 4GB which is maxed out for this MOBO. With USB, the MIDI signal is ONE channel..I've never tried to get more fancy than this.
I see the MUX drum kit, and other drum kits and machines and download them.
Well- how do you play them, make them into a automated drum machine? I peck around on the YouRock guitar keyboard.. a sound here, a sound there. But how do I make them into a Sequencer, where you sequence the beats? It makes a bass here, a cymbal there, all over the keyboard it seems with no Rhyme or reason.
I have one VST that is easy to use, the experimental DR-X980. It works pretty good, but sometimes blows up. I wonder if the DR-X980 is as good as I am gonna get? I like the DR-X980, but my computer will sometimes crash, I think due to the Onboard sound, or perhaps my power supply gets noise into the tracks. I am fixing both of these problems. What happens is that it gets overloaded..and makes a huge noise, the VST is "STuck" on MAX signal, and I gotta close the program.
