Zebroscillators On Parade!

Almost all of the wavetables in the proposed "pro" version of Zebroscillators are displayed briefly here. I wanted to go into a bit more musical detail, but the 15 minute time limit meant I had to be quick.
A couple of the waves are broken due to the Osc Preset Saving Bug (where the contents of Osc 4 get saved no matter what oscillator you save), a couple have special requirements (such as a sawtooth LFO), some are louder than others, etc, so the whole thing needs tidying up a bit.
I'm also open to suggestions, since I'll probably be adding yet more waves. What wavetables did you like? What would you want to see more of? Do you like having the modwheel patched in as default, or should I remove it?
I have the Information window open, so you can read the idea behind most of the wavetables, it should be just about readable on Youtube.
I'm also thinking about joining some of the similar wavetables together, we'll see how that goes.

10:59 - the Zebra wave
..not even at the end of the video and I can say... great stuff!
Some wave tables are truly remarkable/outstanding (they also make interesting harmonic patterns once modulated as seen on WaveCandy)
For how long you are building (these) waves?
about skimming the collection:
It's important and a hard thing to do (especially since you are the creator of these)... you have to decide what not to include: set a quality standard by setting all thoughts aside, make a "favorites" folder and drag your absolute best/useful waves in there. than compare the 2 lists and you'll have a better vision on what's missing, what needs more work and what to chuck away or include into a secondary "treasure trove" folder.
Alternative point of view would be: after selecting your favorites, imagine the other list as the "sentence to death" row
and once checking that list again, you'll feel what deserves a 2nd chance for making the favorite selections.
Having too many choices can take away from the value of the whole. In the end, people might appreciate your work less because the vast number, so that would be a shame.
PS, just in case you haven't noticed (yeah right
), you can drag/drop osc presets directly from Zebra's osc browser.

1:14 - cool alien wave candy
2:17 - cool long one.
5:00 -
Pac-Man-ish
5:08 - nasty sounding, could be YT's conversion artifacts into play
5:18 - cool
5:51 - resolution
5:56 - nasty sounding, could be YT's conversion artifacts into play
6:16 - great one!
6:36 - another great one
7:39 - awesome!
7:55 - sort of bit crushy, cool
8:22 - very interesting
8:27 - you gotta'love'em
8:55 - even if it doesn't seem that exciting as the rest, it's very interesting tho
9:07 - cool
9:34 - kinda reminds me of what some disto algos do to the sound
9:43 - great!
9:48 - dist algo again
, cool
etc etc
9:57 - so cool
10:10 - tiara, I remember this one, also sounds interesting with GeoMorph mode
11:12 - actually, sounding pretty cool
11:35 - cool squabble
some other cool ones here
12:30 - cool!
12:57 - cool too
13:10
(the one before this also)
13:32 - simple yet interesting/useful
14:07
(both of them in that area)
many other that I was too lazy to mention
When getting the some wave nodes very sharp/close in GeoMorph for example, there are times when the wave "jumps" when moving too extreme into one-another, to avoid that jump/shift, try getting as close as possible and than use the alt or ctrl + drag combinations to bend the wave sharp that way,

I'm not good with the wave stuff. Are you manually changing anything in Zebra? I don't see any settings change. Is the Mod wheel/joystick moving? Or is the morph thing automatically changing the waves?

^ in most, the modulation is via the mod wheel. You can tell by the mod assign next to the wave warp parameter.

Nice work Sendy!
Many interesting waves and morphs,
I'm sorry can't read the info it's too small for me (19" monitor) even in HD -
maybe you could choose bigger gui for info text.
So i just remember a few:
Res Notch Expand 2 - with a special formant sound, and the next after that,
some Warm Spectral and
some triple res bandpass - with a great sweep - it was more of them
- and a lot of other i could not read.
The harmonic serie is just great, enjoying so much, Thanks!
Great to get your second video already!

Thanks all for the feedback, especially your detailed feedback 3ee, very helpful, thanks. Yes, a couple of the waves just naturally sound horrible, but sometimes you want to make a horrible sound
The idea of culling the set down to the best waves is an excellent point, and not something I'd considered, since I was going for a completist "every process I can think of with waves" cover all bases kinda thing. But to make the list of files smaller, I am going to consolidate a few of the wavetables into one, especially the simpler tables that are similar to eachother. And I might make the folder system 2-tiered with the best waves in the main folder and the others as extra. I guess it just depends on what your criterea are for a good wave
A note about similarity, there are quite a few that sound similar (some even sound identical), but because they are physically (if not spectrally) different, they function differently in complex synthesis.
I'm also thinking of categorizing the waves differently, by process or sound instead of basic waveshape, so I have all the syncoid tables together, all the wavefolding inspired ones, all the PWMs, etc.

Great stuff !
