A stupid idea

Any problems with the site? How can we improve KVR?

A like and Dislike option for each post.
Anyone else with me? It could be better than the old quote and +1 option.

It could have some negative side effects though. Like people trying to be everybody's darling, or trololo. Not that we don't have that already, but it could force behavior like that. I browse another forum, which has only a "like" button for posts, no dislike. That isn't so bad.

Yah I was thinking maybe a like option would be far better than a dislike option that would mute the comment after it got too many dislikes. You also have a good point in how certain users might abuse the options..

God no, it encourages a knee-jerk digital on/off view of opinions. If someone can't be bothered to explain why they agree or disagree, they should keep out of it.

Childish idea

seriously. ive gotten the highest rated comment on youtube on a 15 million view video, a 2 and a half million view video, a million half video, and about 7 more on less then a million view videos. the difference is, i achieved them by being actually funny (im a very funny guy in real life and people say i should do comedy for a living) none of those stupid kony 2012, my d*ck brought me here, is that darth vaders lightsaber, insert reason for dislike, bullshit.

i don't bother to comment anymore because now its the repetitive and cliche comments that always get the highest rated. that, and i realized that getting a highest rated comment is not a life achievement. i want to slap the op for such a stupid idea :dog:

lol ok my bad i'll rename the topic seeing how the consensus is generally a "dislike"

I was'nt really being serious so c'mon now people.

I'd like tags.

A 'Add tag' button would turn into a text-entry form that would allow to write stuff like 'mixing.eq.multiband', 'instruments.keyboards.behringer', 'theory.techniques.thumb' or single words like 'sylenth1' or 'MUX'. 'Spam?' and 'troll?' could be tagged by regulars and those who could remember the old old KVR would be able to question 'sockpuppet?'.

A user-made directory would be great on a information site like this.
