Yes, i started showing some signs of life on Zebra...LOL. Physical Modeling, one of my favorite and most studied Synthezis. Now i am working on the actual Bow, will make it a Double Bow with some real Harmonics, i know Zebra can do it. I have to use 2 MSEGs for 2 Variants, one puling up and when finished the other starting to pull down.
Comments and Criticism are welcome.

Sounds cool. I wouldn't mind trying that patch :)

Sakura, can do it but it lacks for Legato and microtuning: http://www.image-line.com/plugins/Synths/Sakura/

By the way :-D very nice sound and playing! keep the good work bro!

Higher notes need more work, (sounds like an FM electric guitar gloss a bit)

When physical modeling something it's best to have many shorter sessions than few long ones because it's very easy to think you nailed it because the brain is starting to hear things that aren't there or compensate for what you're imagining.

Also, have a reference to A/B after a break.

Comb module and reverb (used as a sort of comb) also help.
The comb module can emulate the body resonance.

Also, introducing very small amounts of modulation noise on pitch or pitch related parameters can give that bow grind effect... .. "perfect" envelope shapes and settings are a must too!

Thanks Guys,

Tiflet, when it comes to Physical Modeling i really do not like Samples as in the case of Aria, Sakura is great but it still sucks with no Legato and Portamento. With Microtuning we can live.I like Sculpture though.

3ee, of course, in PM there is a lot of imagination involved which can actually interfere with what you hear and instrument interpretation can vary from person to person. I am actually using the Comb Module, something which i got used to very well back in the Triton/MOSS days. I think on Zebra it is the only Module that can be used on PM i mean for greater results. I am planning on doing Bow Changes with MSEGs and introduce some signals to pitch to kinda Flutter it. I just started with Zebra and just transfer my knowledge there from other machines and software so i still have things to figure out such as introducing Noise to Pitch.

Thanks

I usually use LFO on other LFO's phase to generate mod noise, than use either LFO as source.

here are some tips described somewhere within this page (2nd to last post):

Why don't you simply use one of the LFO "Random" waveforms?

Post

^ cause it's a different effect mainly because the LFO random wave is way slower.

with the noise wave it's like a pitch warble but with the LFO "feedback" trick for example, it feels more like actual noise mod.

Post

I think 3EE is right, Random is slow, i used to do this on other synths, tried now on Zebra you can get ALMOST Noise by doing this.

I just read this and I thought I'd give Cello a try, but it's very hard to get the higher notes and top end right imo:

I just tried it now. Good!

I was working on this again tonight, all these artifacts in this recording come from the Mono Legato Portamento ON, if played in Poly is perfect.
