That's funny! It's like mentioning him is a spell to summon him. Perhaps it only works if you say it in front of a really expensive synthesizer.

I was wondering if that was him popping into the video here (1:53 in)
...then quickly darting back behind the audio monitors... nice quick video bomb!

It was a video bomb, my first and last. Perfectly timed, though I say it myself!

Had a vision yesterday, after watching that....And following a large intake of hot black caffeine acid brew,... that you were making cameos in all of these presentation videos. It became like a game to spot you. Perhaps a head would appear over a partition in one presentation. In another, perhaps you walked by in the background with big zebra shirt, turned toward the camera for a second and then continued on. Yet another vision featured you throwing the U-he gang sign from underneath a presenter's table just as the camera zoomed out for a wide-angle shot of an interface. Then I drank some water and got back to pending projects.Howard wrote:It was a video bomb,...

btw, that synth got me so curios until I saw the price tag!
I immediately closed all tabs regarding it.

Misinterpreted what he meant when he talked about you requesting no CV on the filter and a tracking switch (if I recall). Do you own his MicroMac in this case? Never even heard of his synthesizers before, but I watched a demo on the Tube after the vid above and the VCO's sound warm n rich. Curious what you thought about the new Prophet as well...in brief. Supposed to be a real special modulation monster. Heard you did patches for the module.Howard wrote:...I don't own any 'boutique' synths!

1) I don't own any MacBeth synths, but I sure would like to!
2) Yes, the Prophet 12 is a "special modulation monster". I *do* own one of these because I elected to be paid in hardware for programming a bunch of sounds over Xmas. However, I was never a big fan of the Dave Smith sound, so I might be selling the P12 soon (this will hurt... it's a *beautiful* machine!)

Consider me set straight on what you do not own from MacBeth. The little numbers preceeding each explanation make it much easier for my avacado-filled brain. Now I got the whole guacamole
about the Prophet. You'll get a chunk of change for it, 'tisn't cheap. Couple months living expenses. Have trouble imagining putting that kind of money down on the module like this at least myself. Byt the knobby one (over 50 some odd knobs) would be a treat with that mod assignment system they use and latchable ribbons. that one is over 3000Euro. Think I caught your drift with the beautiful part, but In the end, the sound has to make the biggest impression. Only briefly had hands on the 08. On it's own at least it -sounded- alright, but I hadn't time to dig into it. Is it the filthers you don't prefer on the DSI? Cheers

I don't think it can be pinned down to one thing (love the "filthers" spelling BTW, even if it was a typo!). Different manufacturers seem to have different sound-esthetics - some resonate with me, some don't.snigelx wrote:Is it the filthers you don't prefer on the DSI?
