Just wondering if anybody can give me some help with audio recording on OSX. I'm using OSX 10.8.5, connecting my iPad through iConnectMIDI2. I have an aggregate device set up with iConnectMIDI2 as input and built in output for output. The rack meters show audio coming in and it records, but I can't hear the output either while playing or after recording unless I switch out of the aggregate device. If you need more specifics let me know and I'll try to give them to you.
Thanks,
Ralph
Thanks,
Ralph

Problem solved. Switched to Ableton Live Intro. Costs about the same as Mulab and can handle separate audio in and out so there is no need for an aggregate device. Makes much more sense for OSX users who are recording a lot of audio. Mulab is great for midi, but would like to see the OSX audio recording features improved.

The aggregate device concept is something by Apple cfr http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3956
It works well on most OSX systems, not received much error feedback on it. I think the setup you tried may be a more exceptional one and OSX hicking up on that? All this said i'll have another look at this, maybe there indeed is a way to avoid the need for an aggregate device, what would be great.

That would be great. My preference is always to work in Mulab, and this is the first real issue I have found with it after 4+ years of use. Now that I am doing so much audio recording it would be great to be able to " dance with the girl that brought me." As always, thanks listening to your users.

I had a look at this and unfortunately don't see solutions on short term. At the same time i also don't understand why the setup you tried wasn't working, it should work. Are you sure you properly set up everything? Using that setup try this:
* Mulab menu -> Help -> Start Logging
* MuLab menu -> Audio Setup and just click OK.
* Mulab menu -> Help -> Stop Logging
Email me the newest Log-YYYMMDD-HHMMSS.txt in your MuLab folder.
