AVAST Antivirus Malfunction: Melda installers false warning

I can´t download the latest version on the Melda site.
Avast blocks it: Win32:Malware-gen

Or ... send the link to the file to Avast and ask them to fix their malware scanning.

It's not untypical for various tools to flag software with false positives. Could simply be that there's a small piece of compiled code that appears similar to typical malware code but is nothing of the sort.

Exactly! I actually today checked Avast, and indeed it's buggy... I contacted them, but who knows what they will do. For now I recommend not using Avast. Other antiviruses seem to work just fine. It's really sad, that Avast uses such archaic heuristics, that it find out so many false positives and it dares to call it a malware.

I think Avast does an in depth scan of the package, and when they find MLawnMower they throw an alarm.
