MDrummer Break Length

I've always found this puzzling (see Rhythm Editor/Edit/Info button):
"Break length defines number of bars in all of the breaks. MDrummer uses it to determine interval between two automatically started breaks. Hence if you have different break lengths, MDrummer will not play them correctly. In most cases this is just one bar."
I can see by testing various break length settings that it does not of course change the actual break length..but that it multiplies the break interval. Is the purpose that if your arrangement does use say two bar breaks (rather than the usual one bar), this setting will multiply the break interval (x2 in this case) to accommodate? Wouldn't it be less confusing just to directly alter the break interval setting to how many bars you want?

Well, MDrummer needs this value to be able to "play on its own". If you use MIDI commands in your host, it's pretty useless really. But when you let MDrummer play and create breaks (fills) on its own, it needs this value. Your solution with "break interval" is not so good, because in that case it would collide with the arrangement. The break length is related to the rhythm. But how often it plays can be changed of course. Also long breaks are 2x longer and since MDrummer can choose between long breaks and breaks, your solution would now lead to an extreme confusion. Anyway it is the way it is

Well, when each break has a length of 2 bars

Yes, I can see that if composing for example something with a half time feel but the actual written bars are flying by fast and my written breaks are 2 bars long I could use this to kind of expand the break interval to get it to fit with the half time feel....is this the sort of thing?

Yes, sounds logical to me. But I think you are overcomplicating things. Simply put, break length is really just the length of all breaks there, and break interval is how often these are played. Both parameters don't have any use if the automatic breaks are disabled.
