I've posted this question in the Ableton Live forums, but the answers provided, while appreciated, did not help me (is your CPU overheating [no] and download live 9 beta [no difference]). I thought I'd drop a line here and see if someone on KVR could assist:
I've been using Zebra2 (build 2.7) with Live 8.0.4 for a while now and one of the things I love about it is that I can make a rather complicated sound in Zebra2 with multiple LFOs, Oscillators and filters and my CPU wouldn't choke. For the last week or two, though, Ableton has been acting up and driving into the 50-60% CPU range when I have multiple Zebra2 plugins running. I've tried to duplicate the issue with other VST software such as FM8 or Massive (e.g., create a complicated patch with reverb, delays, etc. and duplicate the patch 8-16 times over), but Ableton won't choke like it's doing at the moment with Zebra2.
I am running Windows 7 64-bit with 8GB RAM and an AMD Phenom II X6 1100T processor with an RME Babyface as my audio device. Driver type is ASIO with FireFace USB selected as the audio device. Hardware input and output only have two selected (mono and stereo). In/Out sample rate is 44100 while default SR and Pitch conversion is set to normal. Buffer size is 2048 while driver error compensation is 300 ms.
Has this happened to anyone else? Scratching my head on this one. Can someone help me out?

Hi _tk421_,
which exact build are you using?
Zebra V2.7 (rev 2126) from here? : http://www.u-he.com/cms/zebra
or a newer build (rev2352) from here? : http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 1&t=411649
Please check, whether you experience any performance differences between these 2 builds.
Thanks!
Cheers,
Michael
