Remote Control will not work in rack mode after 2.0.1 update

I have recently purchased the 2.0.1 software update and have attempted to install it today. However, I cannot get remote control to work so that I can access the Receptor GUI from my PC and enter the authorisation code.

Whilst the software was installing, the remote control GUI was open, having already located the Receptor in mixer mode after it first booted up. However, as soon as the installation was complete and the rack mode appeared, the remote control GUI shut down.

I have reinstalled remote control, rebooted my PC and the router, but to no avail. The Receptor is on my network - I can see it on my PC and can access the hard drive contents, but I cannot use the Receptor GUI to authorise the update. The remote GUI just has "scanning for devices" and will not proceed to identifying the Receptor. As a result the "open viewer" button will not work

I did manage to switch the Receptor GUI back to mixer mode after pressing a few buttons and then opened remote control - it then worked fine and I could open the viewer from my PC. However, when I switched to rack mode, the remote control GUI shut down again.

I realise I could just buy a cheap USB keybord and connect this to the Receptor to authorise the upgrade (I already have a monitor and mouse connected). However, I would prefer to use the remote control method if possible.

Could anyone suggest how I could overcome this problem ?

Thanks for your help

Hi Peter,

I don't have a PC in front of me to try this out --- but, perhaps you could simply try connecting to your Receptor from your PC using a VPN client (instead of the remote software). I think someone else has posted details to doing this, but from what I recall, the only critical thing was using the password 'Receptor'.

Hope that helps,
Kevin

Thanks Kevin - I'll give this a try on the weekend
