Another reason to love Mulab

So if it wasn't already known here I like to make electronic music (almost obvious huh?). I specifically love trance music! Anyway, today I had a friend who looked at me when I was showing off what I've made and he said that I needed a vocalist. Well he already had one and was willing to help me out in that aspect but i still had the issue of running a setup.

Well having a headset and my new monitoring headphones I wondered if I could have the audio from Mulab go both through my sound card to my monitors and through USB to my headset. I of course needed ASIO4all to record audio in the first place so I opened that up and was able to enable both the sound card and the headset with no effort at all.

After some quick work on the session modular area and a quick template save, I now have a setup where both the vocalist and i can hear the music and her singing (as the microphone from the headset is routed into Mulab which then points to the master rack!! I love modular <3).

So today, Mulab has once again proven to be a strong DAW filled with everything I need even when I don't need it. It's pretty cool that I can both go through my sound card and my headsets drivers (via USB) with the same signal with very little difference in latency between them (By my untrained ear I'd say about a 25-35 millisecond difference).

Anyway I just though I'd share how I found another reason to love Mulab!

Keep up the great work Jo!

Edit: Also if you rename a template to "New.MuSession" and replace the factory "New.MuSession" with it, you start off every new session with the template you saved :tu:

Cheers Dakkra!

By the way a tip: You can save user templates via the Session menu -> Save Template, there enter "New" and that will save the current session as User/Library/MuSession/Templates/New.MuSession

Then next times you do "New" session this user template will be loaded, cause the user template has priority over the factory template ;)

please can you add this tip to MuLab doc?
as extension to SESSION->New or in section Questions & Answers

Whilst trying this out I spotted something unexpected -- the state of the mixing desk (visible or not) is not saved in the template. This contrasts with the state of the session mux, browser and docked keyboard, for example, which seem to be saved with the template.

Hello everyone

I know that this page of updates is yet very long but... for the safe of old eyes like mine... could you please, Jo, ask the webmaster to increase the size of the characters of that page? The text is very, very dense and with such a density the size of the characters is two times too small to be comfortably read by bad eyes. Could you tell him that musicians are not only among young people and that an airy text is not only a lot more pleasant to read but also a lot more easy to read for older people and people having bad eyes?

Thanks!

I've slightly tuned the font on the website and the docs, it's a little bit bigger now.

Thank you Jo.

I don't want to be boring, but it's very, very, very hard to read even now:

Perhaps an interline of 2 instead of 1 for the UL tag?

What do you mean with interline?

@BlackWinny : You could mark the text from the website and
copy/paste it into a text editor.
I just tried with wordpad and it works fine.

From there you can perhaps "tweak" it to your needs.

@BlackWinny : if you're on Windows you could change the website resolution with [Ctrl]+[+] to make it larger on Internet Explorer or Firefox and make it smaler again with [Ctrl]+[-].
