I know nothing about EditorSetup.txt. I tried to use it when I started working of my skin for Zebra, but is was so counter-intuitive that I finally decided to do everything manually. Not sure if this way is better for you though. But here's what helped me. I use Sublime Text 3 for editing, and I have a couple of additional plugins installed which makes navigation in such a big file a bit faster (Sublime Bookmarks, ASCII Decorator). Also, I found that python syntax highlight works best for u-he config files. After that, I took my time to edit the entire file by adding empty lines and ASCII comments, dividing the code into logical blocks, making it look more readable. In the end it looked like this:
