Ones that sort of match Ableton's lush audio sync/slice mechanism?
Ableton is awesome but crashes on me more than I can handle these days, rendering it nearly unusable in some ways, it's a shame really.

Beatfckr and Coldcutter are fun slicers. Best free sampler is probably Vember Audio Shortcircuit.

FL Studio already has a great slicer, SliceX. http://www.image-line.com/plugins/Synths/Slicex/
Unless you have the Fruity Edition... then I recommend you upgrade to Producer Edition.

All true but afair Fruity Edition have Fruity Slicer which is enough for most tasks.T-CM11 wrote:FL Studio already has a great slicer, SliceX. http://www.image-line.com/plugins/Synths/Slicex/

I use a lot of features in SliceX (per-slice envelopes, routing, etc...) that Slicer doesn't have. Your "most tasks" is not everyone's "most tasks".valerian_777 wrote:All true but afair Fruity Edition have Fruity Slicer which is enough for most tasks.T-CM11 wrote:FL Studio already has a great slicer, SliceX. http://www.image-line.com/plugins/Synths/Slicex/

Not mine but before you suggest to upgrade and pay where OP ask for freeware you should mention it because for slicing its enough, no doubt that SliceX can do alot more. Last point: Where do you know what OP needs when he asked for freeware slicer? Do you realy think he expect the features that SliceX offer or "you use a lot"?T-CM11 wrote:I use a lot of features in SliceX (per-slice envelopes, routing, etc...) that Slicer doesn't have. You're right! Actually, it was just my personal opinion that if the OP wants a great slicer with a lot of features and good integration, that SliceX alone is worth the upgrade price.

He could then anyway buy the VST version instead of upgrade since he asked for use in Reaper too and then it's anyway no more question because Fruity Slicer is FL only. My focus was on free.T-CM11 wrote:You're right! Shit, is that all there is atm?
Loopdrive is insanely fun to use, but doesn't seem to preserve pitch like FL Slicer and Ableton does though when the tempo changes.
Beatburner is a bit less fun but still alright, I don't get why they added that synth in it though and the overdose of filters and envelopes and just like Loopdrive it only resamples the audio which I find a bit lame.
So for Reaper you're a bit f**ked what regards this mechanism?
