I got a nice VST called Deep Step 606. This is a Pink Floyd, 606 step synthesizer vst. This requires no input. You just make your selections, then hit the "Start" button. Well it is outputting sound, and when I route it to the master by the Rack Panel, yep the indicators are jumping.. jumping on the "Master" VST rack too.. But it doesn't record any sound I want to get it to work, I am making sounds for my Motion Comics.

Try this - no guarantees as I've nothing to compare it with.

1) Add a track (just the "Add Track")
2) Add a rack, insert a (MuTools->Other) MuX module in the top slot
3) Set the track target to the MuX in the rack
4) Add the Deep Step 606 to the MuX, wire its audio out to the MuX audio out; if there is an event input, wire it up from the MuX event input anyway
5) Draw a sequence part into the track for the length you want recorded
6) "Export Composition As Audio File" or "Render Selected Parts As New Sample" under the Session menu may then work...

I'm hoping MuLab will think it's got some work to do... It may need some event input, too (try just a single note or control message).

To record the live audio output of a VST plugin, put the VST plugin in the session modular area (or in a rack in the session modular area) and create a new audio recorded in the session modular area and connect the audio out of the VST to the audio recorder. Eventually double-click the audio recorder to open its editor. Then hit record and the audio recorder will start recording all audio output of the VST, including any live changes you make to its sound.

Ah yes, I forget there's an audio recorder module.
