In general XLN's ADpaks keep getting better, though this is the first time I'm 100% satisfied. Generally the kick isn't quite right to my taste, the snare will buzz too much, the ride and other cymbals will be too wild, the toms too boingy, and then you'll likely get an xtra like a clap or cowbell that are of zero use to me. I have none of those complaints with this kit. It sounds incredible. It is punchy, round, tight, and beautiful.

Beyond this particular ADpak I do wish AD had undo/redo, the ability to save/load the settings you currently can only copy/paste (Kitpiece, Channel Insert FX, Multi FX, Delerb, etc.), and the ability to type in values. The same wishlist applies to Addictive Keys. I'd also like to see them tackle shakers! I would much prefer to have a single shaker than 20 useless cowbells.

I'm really liking this ADpack so far too. This, along with Fairfax1 and Retroplex are among the first kits I reach for when using sampled acoustic kits.

Fairfax 1, Funk, and Session Percussion have been my go-to kits, though the Session Percussion congas suffer from the same boingy-ness the older toms do. I'd love a better set of congas. Retroplex sounds really nice, but it has a strong character/personality that hasn't fit into anything I've been working on.

I'm also glad that XLN is proud enough of the new Fairfax kits that they've included 5 pages of presets for them. :)

I think the adpaks for ADD2 are too expensive, but that's me. That said, I bought ADD2 with the Fairfax 1 ap, and I like it a lot.

Yeah, the adpak prices jumped considerably with the release of AD2. The Fairfax adpaks, vol 2 in particular, are worth the price in my opinion. Most of the others ... probably not.

Just made a quicky demo of the SampleTank 3 P Bass. The demo uses the Fairfax Vol 2 kit...

Very nice. :phones:

It is a curious thing how one musical piece can invoke memories of another one. For some reason, after I listened to yours, I was reminded of this

A pitty that XLN decided to bump the prices that much. I won't buy a single drumkit for 90€ if I see what I can get for example from FXpansion, Toontrack or Steven Slate for my money, sorry. Don't get me wrong, big XLN Audio fan here, but the new pricing system? Nooooope.

You can have artist bundle (2adpak, 2 midi pack, 2 kit piece - all of your choice) for $119 at jrr shop. $119 = 90e

Good point, makes the prices much more reasonable.

Yeah, but I already have a ton of their stuff, and so I ain't paying the full whack for FF2. I'll wait for a sale/promotion.

Also, I think their closing their user forums was really a bit of a slap in the face to their customers. Not everyone wants to be on FB, or have everything they write read by their FB friends.

Wish I had those chops. ;)

Agreed. It still annoys me.

Way, way off topic, but...

I live in Washington DC near Fairfax, Virginia. To what does the title of these drum libraries refer?

We have, and have had, a very lively music scene in the area for a long time, so, I'm curious.

Sorry if I sound like an idiot for not getting any other Fairfax reference.

Fairfax is the studio in Van Nuys, California where the drums were recorded; previously known as Sound City.
