What is the benefit/advantage of mseg vs normal envelope (adsr)?
What one or the other can not do?
I think they do the same at the moment. Redundant? (zebra2)

The mesg envelopes can do any and everything the adsr envelopes can, but not the other waya round. The adsrs do a couple of couple of things partcular to them too though. Mseg envelopes are far more powerful in that you can determine the value of all points used, so it could emulate many adsrs if you wanted. But it's big feature lay in the fact that those points can be syncronized to the song's tempos, and in way, you could actually make them work like a programmable LFO, clocked or not, to modulate most any parameter you want to.
