Controller scripts - can't install

I've read everything I can find about how to add controller scripts, in my case for the Novation SLMk2, however I just cannot get it to work. The path is supposed to be C:\Users\NAME\Documents\Bitwig Studio\ControllerScripts (or Controller Scripts, with a space - I've tried both). Putting the top-level folder for the Mossgraber script here doesn't work. Neither does putting the MKII subfolder in this location work. I have another "Users" folder on a separate hard drive, after changing the default location some time ago (some progs pick this up, some don't - Bitwig put my default projects folder here). Doesn't work. In my Bitwig install location I have two folders, "Bitwig" and "Bitwig Studio". One of these (I can't remember which) has a Controller Scripts folder, where the pre-installed scripts live. Doesn't work. There is also some Bitwig related stuff in AppData, so I tried this. You can probably guess the result. I have also tried putting the sc
Is there a config file or something that shows where Bitwig is expecting to find these scripts, and could somebody confirm exactly which files need to be copied?
I've also posted this on Bitwig Answers.

There is only one location for user installed scripts and that is Documents/Bitwig Studio/Controller Scripts
This path should already exist when you install BWS.
I can't help you with your re-routed locations, that is your own dungeon to run through.
Make sure you only have the script in one place, otherwise you may run into trouble.
What does "Doesn't work" signify?
- does the script show up when you restart BWS and open the dropdown "Add controller manually -> Novation -> SLMkII"? It does so for me.
Did you download from Github or from Moss website?
The one on Github is in Beta and only works for Bitwig Studio Beta 1.1 and up.
If you are running 1.0.15 you need to use the version from Moss website which is linked from the Github page.
You can also open the Control Script Console from the View menu and see if the script shows up and/or you get any errors there.
Cheers,
Tom

Hi Tom, thanks for the response.
By "doesn't work", I mean the controller does not show up in Bitwig, either automatically or when trying to add manually. I am on 1.0.15 and using the script from the Moss website. I'll make sure the files are only in the location you specified. Is it the top-level, unzipped folder that should be placed?

Thanks for the clarification.
Yes, the extracted folder "Push4Bitwig" should be in in the said location, containing the README.md, docs and .js scripts and several further subfolders with scripts.
If you got the scripts from http://www.mossgrabers.de/Software/Bitwig/Bitwig.html that should work. You can try to re-download to be sure.
If it does not work, I wonder if your re-targeted User folder is the problem? Although you said you tried in both locations?
Do any other user scripts show up for you?
Cheers,
Tom

And you tried both the "normal" location on C:\Users as well as your self-created alternative location for "documents"? I could imagine that this is your problem maybe?
Did the scripting console show any red errors when you click on global or any other controllers you may have showing there?
Cheers,
Tom

I think you still have a folder problem. To make sure you are using the correct one I would suggest to uninstall Bitwig. Then delete all remaining Bitwig folders in any of your user folders. Then reinstall and see in which user documents the Bitwig folder appears. Then retry to put the script there.Kubase wrote:Ok, made sure only one location was being used, re-downloaded the script and checked the folder structure. Still no luck.
Hope that helps.

Thomas - yes, I used the normal location and made sure the script wasn't in any other location.
Moss - I've been thinking myself that a reinstall may be required.
I wish *all* folder locations could be chosen during install...

No, don't. The UUID has nothing to do with this case.

That looks like you have the 1.1 version from Github installed. Did you delete the folder and install the one from Moss site?
