Recommendations for iPad Hardware (audio interface)?

Stumbled over the iPad apps of Sugar Bytes today and can't resist...

But since I don't have an audiointerface for my iPad (2) yet I'm wondering what people recommend. I'm especially keen on using the FX (Turnado, Effectrix) as send-FX with my hardware mixer. This way they could replace my Kaoss Pad...

Any hints, guys?

I bought a used Line6 audio in for my iphone 4s for around 10 € on ebay. It does is job pretty well. sound quality is good enough for my needs, no problems with latency. Has guitar in and stereo line in.
But why would you want to replace your Kaoss Pad?

How would I return the signal to the mixer then? Via the regular audio-out of the pad? Sorry if this is a dumb question...

yes, you would use the regular audio-out.
