Ever thought about a "DIVA like of vintage samplers"?

Hello,

I would like to ask to Urs or anyone of the U-he team that can answer
if they ever thought of making a sort of Diva for vintage samplers?

I mean the same concept of Diva emulating vintage analog synthetizers,
but applied this time to iconic samplers like Emulator 1, Emulator 2, Fairlight,
Synclavier, all known and still looked for the character they gave to samples.

Of course able to sampling on his own would be the icing on the cake,
or maybe able at least to import external recorded samples and transforming automatically the sounds like they were sampled on the original sampler model.
But I believe that a "sampler" should be able to really "sample" to deserve being called like that, not like Kontakt (or others) that just import and play them. ;)

Just for your info AlyJames (the one who made the VLinn LM1 and Simmons VSDX drum machines and the OB-Xtreme plugins is working on his Fairlight version (all original hardware models had the same CEM3320 chipset) and he wrote that it will have the sampling function!
So I wondered what goodness could come out from U-he team if they also give a try at that with Diva concept. :D
All the best.

There are plenty of Simmons, Linn drum and other sample floating around.

But yes, if there was something like a construction kit sampler/granular synthesis system, similar to Alchemy and Omnisphere, that would be great. Especially if there was an easy way for outsiders to build kits for these and post these so that someone could build a nice collection of various synth and drum modules for a studio. I think the key is that this is not another Kontakt or EXS24 clone, rather a system where you could packetize samples and have modulation systems built in with granular synthesis and other elements to tweak the sounds internally.

Yeah... if only days had 36 hours...

Motu's Mach 5 can do all this and more . Amazing piece of software .

Wait, wait...
I just nominated Linn and Simmons for reference to the programmer that is working on emulating vintage machines that used the same CEM chipset, but the focus was on his Fairlight emulation... specifically that he wants it able to sample like the old machine.
Tha same for Kontakt, I nominated it just for reference...
the focus of my question is just on remaking those old samplers models.

well, I can guess... and I understand too.
at least I know that you have thought about doing that, I'm glad.
There's a slight hope then, because it would be great if you could do
(and I always hope also Synthex modules for Diva one day maybe)

Thank you for the answer Urs!
keep up your great work and have a nice holiday now! :)
