i just watched the interview and was happy to see that the idea of a sample player is not off the table.

In fact to me it feels like that there is some gap to fill in the market.

Seeing what you already got in stock, i think that it should be rather easy for you to "just" develop an Oscillator-Modul able to load and play multisamples. It could be in Diva, or in Zebra and of course a little more elaborate it could be an own Synth.

Well, apart from having a few days off, we're currently knee deep in the hot phase of a synth development. I don't think we've ever got so many contradicting feature requests and ambiguous criticism as for Hive. After that we'll concentrate on refurbishing some existing plug-ins.

So, hehe, as much as I would love to think about sample playback, my mind is completely elsewhere.

I just know that we'll have limited (!) sample import in Zebra, mostly for wavetables. I will however refuse to make Zebra a sample playback device. I'm afraid that sample import will turn Zebra into something different, and maybe something less likable. We're very proud of the sounds people have gotten out of it *without* sample playback.

Nonetheless, suggestions for sample playback are always welcome!*

Dont worry. I do know how busy your to-do list looks like. And i am not expecting anything soon.

I just wanted to encourage the thought of sample playback. As much as i am ashamed about it, but somehow i do miss the old times with my JD 800, XP50, M1 and Wavestation. Cant stop thinking about what could be possible with awesome filters and modern synth-features. I know lots of things are possible with Kontakt-Instruments or Reaktor ensembles, but that usually just doesnt feel like a synth to me.
