Zebra preset folder in my Dropbox?

Hey, I just purchased Zebra and am really excited about getting into it.
I had an initial issue with Zebra continually asking for my serial code, then saw the VST was 2.6, so deleted and re-installed - all good now. I think the old demo version was stuck there somehow.
Whilst evaluating, I'd built up a load of extra patches and renamed the folders (adding 'Pads' after 'Fillers'; 'Rhythmic' after 'Lupins' etc, for clarity. So I now have folders containing the latest factory patches to chuck into my previously re-named folders, just to ensure the most recent versions are kept where overwrites occur. No worries?
Is this right, or should I keep non-factory presets (like downloaded libraries) separate, in the users presets?
However, I use two Macs and like stuff backed up, so therefore keep all the files I own (where technically possible) in Dropbox, where I have 1020Gb. This includes my Ableton Live projects, samples etc, such that I can seamlessly move between computers.
Can I set a Zebra preset folder in my Dropbox, to be synced across both machines, or do I manually have to keep them updated? If the latter, what happens when I make a new patch on one machine, considering I could be opening it on the other, later?
Thanks!

Yes, this works fine. I've tried it between my MacBook Pro and iMac.
I use SymLinker https://github.com/jossgray/SymLinker/releases to create a symbolic link between the original folder and the folder in Dropbox. After that you just have to be VERY CAREFUL to make sure you don't use both Macs simultaneously as this could corrupt project files, presets etc. on your Dropbox folder as they battle for sync priority.
Have fun!

Cool thanks, I'll give this a go.
Doesn't look like there's a way to get Zebra to look at my Dropbox folders directly, is there?
If not, I'll have to try this. It is surprising that U-He don't seem to factor in making music across multiple computers.. Custom folder location would instantly enable any file sync utility.

AUTO-ADMIN: Non-MP3, WAV, OGG, SoundCloud, YouTube, Vimeo, Twitter and Facebook links in this post have been protected automatically. Once the member reaches 5 posts the links will function as normal.
so I found this topic on google and I figured out how to do it using google drive, probably can use same process for dropbox as well.I tried u-he suport for the answer and they said it coudn't be done but I persisted and found that when you reinstall zebra it gives you the option to manually place the data folder (while on automatic it places it in my documents).
So if you copy your data folder to the dropbox or other cloud service and reinstall both machines copy of zebra making sure to manually point them to the cloud folder it works!
also there is this official post in the faq on u-he site = http://www.u-he.com/cms/faqs#can-i-move ... rent-drive (http://www.u-he.com/cms/faqs#can-i-move-my-presets-elsewhere-even-to-a-different-drive)
enjoy!

You gave me a great idea. Have you tried this with Ableton's user library as well? I am paranoid about keeping that thing up to date, as it has a ton of my best presets in it, plus sharing between computers is nice. I think I tried saving projects directly to the inbox, but I got some weird errors about disk access, so I had to back that out.

I appreciate when plugins allow the user to control where the presets are stored. That said, u-he is using symlinks already to point to its data files (at least on Windows) so it's very easy to change the location of these.
I actually do this for every plugin that uses its own preset system. I move the preset folders to Dropbox and then create symlinks/directory junctions to point from the original location to the Dropbox folder. This works great, and I do it both on Windows and Mac. Always having the same presets no matter what machine I'm using is fantastic!
I also do this with many of the folders in the Reaper directory so that my track templates/VST presets/FX chains and all that are synced between machines. Projects and associated files are saved directly to Dropbox or Box. Actually the only issue I have with this cross-platform configuration is Presswerk, which Reaper doesn't recognize on my Mac if the session was last saved on Windows. I've written a script for now to edit the project file and replace plugin ID...but I hope they'll fix it soon.
